(1) Line M passes through Quadrant II.

(2) Line M passes through Quadrant I.

Statement 1: Line M passes through Quadrant II. Insufficient because this statement alone doesnt let us find the exact slope of the line.

Statement 2: Line M passes through Quadrant I. Insufficient for same reasons cited above.

Combining St1 & St2: If the line passed only through quadrant I & II, we could conclude that the line is parallel to the x-axis. In other words it has zero slope. But we don't know whether it passes through any other quadrant or not. So Insufficient.
