If m and v are integers, what is the value of m + v?
(1) mv = 6
(2) (m + v)^2 = 25

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

statement 1: MV=6 is not sufficient to answer
statement 2: (m+v)^2=25 is also not sufficient as M+V=+5 or-5

putting both the statement together will give M^2+V^2+ 2mv=25
solving this will give M^2+v^2=13

hence both statements are not sufficient

mv = 6 , m and v possible pairs are (6,1)(1,6), (-6,-1) (-1,-6),(-3,-2),(-2,-3) (3,2)(2,3).......insuff

from 2

m+v = 5 or -5...insuff

both

still m+v can be either 5 or -5
