n^2 + 45 = a^2
=> a^2 - n^2 = 45
=> (a+n)(a-n) = 45 = 3^2*5

Now,
Some Number Theory

Total Number of ways a composite number can be written as a product of two factors = (Total Number of Factors)/2

Total Number of Factors of 45 = 3*2 = 6

=> Total Number of ways 45 can be written as a product of two factors = 6/2 = 3


=> Number of possible values of n = 6 (since negative values also have to be considered)
