is it 14lbs?

total = 7.70
1st lb = 1.20
x lbs = 6.50

to find x:
6.50/.25 = 6.5*4 = 26
26* 1/2 lbs = 13lb

1 + 13 = 14

Unbelievable!! It is very simple. I can't believe I was making such a stupid mistake and yet couldn't figure out my mistake. I calculated 7.70 - 1.20 as 5.50 instead of 6.50. My answer was, therefore, 12 lbs. And I checked it twice or thrice!!! Time to call it a day I think :)
