If r and s are positive integers, r is what % of s
(1) r =3/4s
(2) r + s = 75/100

The answer is C can someone explain why ??

I'm not sure about number 1, I would have gone with A myself. r/s = 3/4, that seems to say r is 75% of s to me.

As far as 2 is concerned, I would first convert 75/100 into 75%:

r + s = 75%, r = 75% - s

You then know you can't figure out the problem because you can't divide r by s to figure out the percentage. That would give you A in my book, but the answer is C.

Anyone know how you get C?

This question is very similar to a question in OG 11th edition. Part B in the OG version is r/s instead of r+s. The OA is D for the OG version.

1) 1 is a ratio between the values.
sufficient
2) r and s cannot add to a fractional value if they are both positive integers(as the problem states). This is an impossibility. The question is deficient.
