(1) The number 3s is a three-digit number whose last digit is p
(2) The digit p is less than 7

Given the constraints of the problem
if qp=s then statement 1 gives you 3s=3qp
statement 2 tells you p<7
neither statements alone not together can help you ditermine the exact value of p.
Sufficiency only requires you to figure out if you can get the answer or not, and if so which one of the statement is needed or if both are needed

State 1: p can be 0 or 5 only....insuff

State 2: Doesn't say anything...insuff

Together again p can be 0 or 5....insuff

E it is....

1) qp*3=100x+10y+p; p can be 0 or 5

2) p<7...can be 1, 2, 3 etc

together 5 and 0 are less than 7

then 3s = 102,p=2

let s=40
then 3s = 120,p=0
