s + t = 10
Statement 1
r = s
We don't know the values of s, r, t, q
Statement 1 is insufficient
Statement 2
tq – sr + sq – tr = 20
=> q(s + t) - r(s + t) = 20
=> (q - r)(s + t) = 20
=> q - r = 2
Statement 2 is sufficient
Hence option B
s + t = 10
Statement 1

Given:

To find:
- • The value of q – r
Approach and Working:
Analysing Statement 1” r = s”
By substituting r=s in q-r, we get: q-s
However, we still do not know the q or r or q-r.
Hence, statement 1 is not sufficient to answer the question.
Analysing Statement 2 “tq – sr + sq – tr = 20 “
- • tq – tr + sq – sr = 20
• t(q-r)+s(q-r)= 20
• (t+s)(q-r)= 20
• 10*(q-r)= 20
• q-r = 2
Hence, statement 2 is alone sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, the correct answer is option B.
Answer: B
