Given: Speed = 50mph
Distance = 10 miles

Approach: Time = Distance/Speed = 10/50mph = 1/5hr = 12 mins

It will take Sally 10/50 = 1/5 hour, which is 60 x 1/5 = 12 minutes, to drive 10 miles at 50 mph.

More than Time and Distance, this is a sum based on Conversion.

Since we want our answer in minutes, we convert hours into minutes

50 miles/ hour means 50 miles in 60 minutes

Therefore to travel 10 miles, time taken = \(\frac{10 \space * \space 60}{50} = 12\) minutes

Solution:

It takes Sally 10/50 x 60 = 1/5 x 60 = 12 minutes to drive 10 miles at a constant speed of 50 miles per hour.
