Given: T is a prime number.
T= 3k + r. what is the value of r.
statement 1:
\((T-13)^3 = 48*k\)
\((T-13)^3 = 2^4*3*k\); if x^3 has a 3 then x should also have a 3
T-13 = 3*k
T = 3*k + 13
T = 3*k + 12 + 1
T = 3*(k+4) + 1
sufficient
statement 2:
4T – 3 = 18*k + 1
4T = 3*6k + 1 + 3
4T = 3*(k+1) + 1; 4 leaves a remainder 1 so T should also leave remainder 1 for 4T to leave remainder 1 when divided by 3
