A. ZY - V
B. Z/V – 3 - Y
C. Z/3 – V - Y
D. 3V - Z - Y
E. V - Z – Y

Sum of three numbers will be = 3V
Hence the third no will be = 3V-(Z+Y)=3V-Z-Y

We can let the remaining number = X; thus:

(X + Z + Y)/3 = V

X + Z + Y = 3V

X = 3V - Z - Y

Answer: D

Let the 3rd number be x.
Average = (x+Y+Z)/3 = V
x+Y+Z = 3V
Hence x = 3V-Y-Z
Answer D.

We can define average of some numbers
to be the sum of the numbers divided by a number.

Let the third number be X.

$$V = \frac{Z+Y+X}{3}$$
X = 3V - Z - Y(Option D)
