Solution

Given:
• The ratio x: y = 6: 7
• The value of x = 15

To find:
• The value of y

Approach and Working:
As the ratio x: y = 6: 7, we can assume x = 6k and y = 7k, where k is a non-zero constant

Given that x = 15, therefore, we can write
• 6k = 15
Or, 7k = $$\frac{15}{6} * 7$$ = 17.5 = y

Hence, the correct answer is option D.

6k = 15

So, k = 2.5

So, y = 7*2.5 => 17.5, Answer must be (D) 17.5
