65-35 = 30 mph
30/0.62= ~48kmph.

Initial speed = 65 miles/hr

Reduced speed = 35 miles/hr

Difference in speed = 65 - 35 = 30 miles/hour

1 km = 0.60 miles approx

1 mile = 1/0.60 km

Therefore,

30 * 1 * 100 / 60 = 50 kms approx

So D = 48 kms is the closest choice

We see that 220 yards is 220/1760 = 22/176 = 11/88 = 1/8 miles.

Thus, the number of hours it will take to travel 1/8 miles at 45 mph is:

(1/8)/45 = 1/(45 x 8) = 1/360 hours, which is (1/360) x 3600 = 10 seconds

Answer: C
