If x ≠ 0 and \(y = \frac{x + 1}{x} – 1\), what is \(\frac{1}{y}\)?

A. x

B. \(\frac{1}{y}\)

C. −x + 1

D. \(\frac{x+1}{x-1}\)

E. −(x + 1)

Simplify \(y = \frac{x + 1}{x} – 1\) ==> y =((x+1)-x) /x ==> 1/x

1/y = x

Hence A

\(y=\frac{x+1}{x}–1 = 1+\frac{1}{x}-1=\frac{1}{x}\)
Hence \(x=\frac{1}{y}\)

IMO A
