If x <0, then what is sqrt(-x|x|)

a) -x
b) -1
c) 1
d)x
e) sqrt (x)

What I can tell you is that you might get confused whether it is x or -x (this is where I reached).

d) x

since x is negative -> sqrt(-x|x|) = sqrt(x.x) = x

Ans is -x, i.e is A

Because if we reach with ans x (that can be only concluded if we assume x < 0).

For that value result is always less than < 0 because we come with result with x.

So for me -x is rt option

for x < 0, |x| = -x --> sqrt(-x*-x) = sqrt(x^2) = |x|

thus f(x) = |x|, now since x < 0 --> f(x) = -x --> answer is A

Yeah it is -x because X < 0
