Solve by options

x = 1/2

D is the answer.

(x+2)(x-5) = (x-3)(x+4)

-->

x^2 -3x -10 = x^2 + x -12

-->

-4x = -2

-->

x = 1/2

Extend the quadratic equation to be x^2 -3x - 10 = x^2 + x - 12

-4x = -2

x = 1/2
