st.1 let z=1 and x=2 and y=6 . in this case answer is no
let z=3 and x=2 and y=6. in this case answer is yes

hence st.1 alone is not sufficient.

st.2 let z = 0 and x=2 and y=6 . in this case answer is no.

let z=2 and x=1 and y=5 . in this case answer is yes

hence st. 2 alone is not sufficient.

st.1 and st.2 together

we know that z>0 and y>z. but still here yes and no answer are possible.
consider this z----x--------y answer is no.
x-----z--------y answer is yes.

hence both statements are insufficient to answer the question.

A..z>0...this tells us x,y,z are positive but no no information regarding their values is mentioned...therefore not sufficient
b..z<y....here we get the relation between z and y but relation of y with x is still unknown there are multiple possibilities
x<z<y;z<x<y;z<y<x....therefore B is not sufficient
A+B ...still we are not able to infer relation between x and y...therefore A+B is not sufficient
So only left is E

(1) Clearly insufficient, since we do not know anything about X or Y
(2) Insufficient. For example 0----- X-------Z--------Y, but it could be also true: 0-----Z-----X------Y. In both cases Y>Z, but only in one Z is between X and Y

(1)+ (2) Combining both statements we know that Z>0, but those Statement 2 already shows that we do not know if Z is between X and Y

we dont know x and y.....insufficient
2) z<y
we dont know x......insufficient

1+2) we still dont know x
