 x > y ;  Inference : x lies to the right of y in a number line

Statement 1

(1) x is a multiple of 10

If y is a factor of 10 or of x, then  \frac{x }{ y}  is an integer, otherwise,  \frac{x}{y}  is not an integer.

x = 10; y = 2 ⇒  \frac{x}{y}  is an integer

x = 10; y = 4 ⇒  \frac{x}{y}  is not an integer

As we are getting two contradicting answers to the question "Is  \frac{x}{y}  an integer?" we can eliminate A and D.

Statement 2

(2) y is a multiple of 2

Not sufficient, as we don't have any information on x.

Combined

The statements combined don't help either as both cases of Statement 1 are still possible.
