If you prefer we could phrase this as "is \(y > 2x\)?"
Statement 1:
This means \(x + 2x + 3x > y\) and \(6x > y\), this does not tell us if \(y > 2x\) so insufficient.
Statement 2:
\(x * 2x < y\) so \(y > 2x^2\). Note since x is a positive integer, we must have \(2x^2 \geq 2x\). Hence we have \(y > 2x^2 \geq 2x\) and \(y > 2x\). Sufficient.
