(1) sum of the first three positive integer multiples of x =x+2x+3x= 6x
6x>y

if x=y=1 then NO
if y=3 , x=1 then YES
insuff

(2) product of the first two positive integer multiples of x = x*2x = 2x^2
y>2x^2
as x &y are positive integers thus y must be > 2x
suff

St 1: x + 2x + 3x>y or 6x>y. cannot compare 2x andy. INSUFFICIENT
St 2: 2x^2<y
or 2x<y
or x<y

therefore y-2x will be positive. ANSWER

option B
