For X(y+3) to be odd both x & y+3 have to be odd

1 given x & y are prime numbers and x<3 so only possible value of x would be 2 so the expression x( y+3) will be even always

sufficient

from 2 y>33
here y would always be odd i.e 37,41 .. and y +3 would always be even so even so sufficient ..

IMO D should be correct..

Statement 1: x<3
Which means x= 2 therefore, 2(y+3) is even
Sufficient
Statement 2: y>33
y can be 37, 41, 43 .... which means x(even) = even
Sufficient

D is the answer

x and y are primes.

Statement 1:

x<3. x=2. So the product will be even. Sufficient.

Statement 2;

y>33. only even prime is 2. all other primes are odd. 37 + 3 = 40 ( SUPPOSED). Now we don't have to know the value of x. even * odd/even = even. Sufficient.

The best answer is D.

By definition, prime numbers are greater than 1 with only 2 divisors. The question is whether both x and y+3 are odd or not.

S1: x = 2 Sufficient to say that both x and y+3 are NOT odd
S2: y+3 will be even. Sufficient to say that both x and y+3 are NOT odd
