Given: X 0
This scenario, Y is a positive number and X is positive or negative number. This condition proves to be invalid if X = -1 and Y = 1. This is insufficient.

Case 2: X > 0

This condition imposes a pre-condition of both X and Y are positive numbers and X is less than Y. For example: X = 2 Y = 3 ect. This is sufficient to prove that both (X + Y) (X – Y) < 0


Answer: B
