Given,

(x – y)(x + y) = 15

(x – y) 5 = 15

x - y = 3.

Now,

x + y = 5

x - y = 3

..............................

2x = 8

x = 4.

x + y = 5

4 + y = 5

y =1.

So,

x/y

4/1 = 4.

solve (x – y)(x + y) = 15 and x + y = 5
x-y=3
and x+y=5
y=1 and x= 4
so x/y = 4
IMO B

$$x+y=5$$
So, $$x-y=3$$

Solve for x and y.

$$x=4, y=1$$
$$\frac{x}{y}=\frac{4}{1}=4$$. Imo, option B.
