√(y^2 +1) = 2
square both sides
y^2+1=4
y^2=3
y= +-√3 -----(or y= +- 1.72)

stmt 1) y > 0
if y>0 , y can take only one value i.e. y= √3
Hence statement 1) is sufficient.

stmt 2) y > -1.5
if y> -1.5 , y can take only one value i.e. y= √3 ----(√3= 1.72)
Hence statement 2) is sufficient.

Hence Answer is option D
