√(y^2 +1) = 2 square both sides y^2+1=4 y^2=3 y= +√3 (or y= + 1.72)
stmt 1) y > 0 if y>0 , y can take only one value i.e. y= √3 Hence statement 1) is sufficient.
stmt 2) y > 1.5 if y> 1.5 , y can take only one value i.e. y= √3 (√3= 1.72) Hence statement 2) is sufficient.
Hence Answer is option D
