Hello,

If I am applying to a Master's in Finance, and I am asked: If you had to choose an entirely different career path, what would it be and why?
How can I respond to this question? What are some points that the interviewer would like to hear?
Also, as someone who had transferred to finance from architecture during his undergrad, should I allude that I would have continued my bachelor's in architecture? Or is that something that I should avoid?

Furthermore, if I am asked about the reasons for switching majors, what are some good reasons that I can provide?

Thank you all in advance.

Hi danymasri98,

The purpose of this prompt is to help Adcoms better understand whether you are ready to manage a rigorous PG program and will gauge the experiences you bring to the business school to ensure diversity in the classroom. They want to know if you play well with others if you have the raw potential to learn from their program and if you have the vision to carry forward these lessons into the professional space.

We must understand your journey so far and your overall goals and aspirations, as that would be a major component for crafting a compelling response for this prompt. You can also mention about your switch from architecture to finance and the reasonings behind it. The goal is to be succinct and answer without rambling.

We would recommend you connect for a free profile audit consultation call with our MBA consultants who can understand your journey and help you build a persuasive narrative.
