The least value of any absolute value is zero. In our case this value is obtained when \(z=\frac{40}{7}\approx{5.7}\), but we are told that \(z\) is an integer, so let's try closest integer values:
For \(z=5\) --> \(|40-7z|=5\);
For \(z=6\) --> \(|40-7z|=2\).
The least value is 2.
Answer: B.

Given that z is an integer and we need to find the least possible value of |40-7z|
Now, |40-7z| is Absolute Value/Modulus of a number and we know that Absolute Value of any number is always ≥ 0
=> Minimum value of |40-7z| will be close to zero
=> 40-7z should be close to 0
Since, z is an integer so let's take value of z in such a way that 40-7z is closer to 0
For z = 5
=> 40-7z = 40 - 7*5 = 5
For z = 6
=> 40-7z = 40 - 7*6 = -2
-2 is closer to 0 than 5
=> Minimum value of |40-7z| = |-2| = 2 (when z = 6)
So, Answer will be B
