Hi,
How safe is it apply in Round 3 in IMD for Jan 2018 intake. I have GMAT score of 660. I am 34 years old and have 9 years of experience in Consulting and Analytics. Presently I am working for Bain & Company in the Advanced Analytics Group. I am planning to take GMAT again but wanted to understand what are the chances if I apply in Round 3 (June 1 deadline).

If you can put in a strong application, Round 3 for IMD is not late. 9 years of experience for IMD is fine and the age factor is not an issue either. Your GMAT score, while not outstanding, falls within the range for IMD.
IMD MBA success stories of a couple of candidates who made it to IMD, with some similarities.
