Hello,
I have a question about switching jobs. I am applying to MBA programs this fall. I've been in my current role two years but also was laid off from my previous job through no fault of my own. I work for a real estate investment firm, a smaller organization (50 people). I am a financial analyst focused on acquiring commercial buildings. During my time at the company there have been no raises as business has been slow, but business has picked up dramatically in the last 9 months or so. There has also been some turnover between some of my supervisors. Because of this, at one point I was reporting directly to the CEO of the company. He wrote me a glowing recommendation for business school and wrote how I managed to raise $15 million for their most recent deal by cold calling equity groups. (I made sure to get that early). I am currently interviewing with a large apartment REIT to be on their real estate investment team. The pay and responsibilities would be a step up.
My question is, would it be detrimental to switch jobs now and only be there for 10 or 11 months before school, if it is an opportunity that fits into my goals after business school?
Any help is greatly appreciated
