Hi guys !
So I'm just wondering which programme would be a better choice; an MSC Investment and Wealth Management in Imperial College London or an MSC in Finance in Boccnoni?
(I am an undergraduate chemistry student so I am a little out of the loop with this sort of thing)
I have been accepted into both courses and am not sure which I should choose. I know that the Finance departments in either school have been ranked roughly the same for the last few years (with Bocconi being slightly ahead) so I'm not really sure what to go with.
The main issue for me is the fee. I'm wondering whether the Top Ten University status of Imperial is worth the additional € 14,000 it will cost me in fees.
I'll lay out my thoughts on either and any advice past that would be really appreciated, particularly if you have any first hand experience with either school.
Bocconi:
Substantially cheaper, with a pretty attainable fee waiver for the first year of study
The course has a great reputation
Two year course might suit me better as I have no experience with finance or economics in university (not including summer internships)
The cost of living is far cheaper in Milan
An outright MSc in Finance might be more useful to me when searching for a job
Opportunity to learn a new language/culture
Imperial:
Top ten university, with a superb reputation for finance
I really like the range of electives offered here, outside of traditional financial ones
Proximity to employers
May potentially be more difficult to find my feet? (Not sure about this but it would strike me as the case given it is only a one year course)
High cost of living
Potential for partial scholarship
Any advice would be very much appreciated !
Thanks,
Conor
