Hi friends,
I am hestitating between Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Imperial College London. I hope to develop strong quantitative techniques (such as machine learning and statistical modelling), combined with my Chartered Financial Analyst certificate, to break into investment management industry.
In terms of the academic ranking and reputation, Imperial has a slightly better ranking (the 6th) than NUS (the 8th) does. The difference between the subject rankings is not signicant either (the 6th vs the 10th). Both Singapore and London are home to the financial centre and cultural hub of their respective regions. As for the courses, Imperial's quantitative subjects (liek advanced machine learning) seem to be harder than those of NUS, but NUS seems to provide a guaranteed internship as the casptone while Imperial students have to search themselves. So, overall both seem to be hard to be distinguished from each.
I wonder which one will be a better choice for my long-term career in the investment and financial service industry, and how each of them is better. In addition, I wonder which one's cohorts generally have better backgrounds (like previous education, occupation, and GMAT...) and competitiveness.
Thank you in advance!
