Schools will only worry about the GPA conversion which just considers the classification.

An upper second is not really an issue either - that's what I got in my undergrad but with some very poor scores that I tried to contextualise some of the reasons.

Whats more critical is that you show theres more to you than just academics. A first and high gmat score will not get you into BSchool alone - so you need to ensure you are getting involved in the extracurricular (and preferably in 'leadership' roles as part of committees etc.)

You can definitely recover from your slow start in your first year. Sounds like you have a lot going on involvement wise which is great. Definitely continue to lead initiatives and make an impact, but don't let your academics fall. You have a great opportunity to make up for first year, so don't let it slip by! Best of luck on your upcoming year as well as your GMAT this summer!
