Help me evaluate my profile please!!
I haven't seen many posts on forums concerning MCs ACME and the chances to get accepted.
I am an international student. My application: GPA 8.4/10 ; great CV (Internships, volunteering, a manager of a non-profit project; 3 languages (russian, eng + french); many extracurriculars during Bachelor's; work experience more than a year); great motivational (or so I believe); did Kira Interview and did pretty well (nailed it, even).
The only problem is my GRE, I am good with critical thinking but I suck at math (it's psychological, I think...). Studied for 2 months, got 153 in VR (58th%), 4.0 in AW (54th%) and 144 in QR (14th%), and I'm totally devastated because of QR.
I thought I would do much better at math, but it is what it is. Is it TOO crucial for ACME program, in your opinion? They don't have any mandatory Math or Finance courses there, and overall the whole program does not seem math-oriented.
Do you know any examples when people got in even with a low QR score? And if you applied to ACME, what is your GRE/GMAT?
Hey runiatet,
Based on the information provided,
your profile is generally strong, with a high GPA, impressive CV, and good performance on the Kira Interview. However, a low GRE Quantitative Reasoning (QR) score may raise concerns for some admissions committees, as it may suggest that you have a weaker quantitative background.
It's difficult to say how important the GRE QR score is for the MSc ACME program, as admission criteria can vary from program to program and university to university. However, many graduate programs place significant weight on standardized test scores, so a low score may negatively impact your chances of admission.
It's worth noting that a low GRE QR score doesn't necessarily mean you won't be accepted into the program. Admissions committees consider a variety of factors beyond just test scores, including your academic record, work experience, extracurricular activities, and motivation. So, it's possible that your other strengths may offset the weakness in your QR score.
In conclusion, while a low GRE QR score may be a concern, it's not necessarily the only factor that will determine your admission. It's important to highlight and quantify your other strengths in your application and explain any circumstances that may have impacted your QR score.
