Arithmetic (including number properties), Algebra and Geometry are the most important for GMAT. Then there are other smaller topics that you need to be comfortable with such as statistics, sets, progressions, permutations and combinations etc. You can start working on them in any order but usually people begin with Arithmetic and Algebra and then cover the other topics since these two are conceptual. You need to be comfortable with them in order to get clarity in other topics.
If you are unsure of how to start, I would suggest you to get a set of prep books. They have a natural flow from book 1 to book 12 (for Veritas). The previous books discuss the concepts needed in the subsequent books. In that case you would not need to worry about the sequence of the topics.
