There are many types of CR questions. But the vast majority of them will be strengthen/weaken and assumption. These types of questions require you to identify the assumption. At least that's what the books will tell you.

Most importantly it is necessary for you to identify the conclusion. You need to recognize what the conclusion is saying. If it + and the question tells you to weaken it, the answer must make the + into a - and vice versa.

Step #1 Identify the conclusion.
Step #2 Manipulate the assumption to make the argument (the conclusion) agree with the what the question asks you to do.

Go from there.
