Hi! I need to pass my exam with a score of 525 at least. For practice GMAT exam 1 I received a score of 495, but I was in a pressure since I used 10 minutes for first 3 answer at quant section so I had to guess last 5/6 questions. For Verbal I was tight on time as well.
Does anyone know how I could improve my score by at least 30 points in 1 month?
These were my scores
- quant 70, percentile 14th (mean 78)
- verbal 79, percentile 51st (mean 79)
- data insights 75, percentile 51st (mean 74)

Hey! You're already quite close to your goal, so a 30-point improvement in a month is absolutely doable with the right strategy. Since timing seems to be the main issue, especially in Quant, I'd recommend:
1. Time management drills – Practice sets with strict timing (e.g., 2 mins per question) to train your pacing. Try using a stopwatch and moving on even if unsure, then reviewing mistakes.
2. Quant focus – With a 14th percentile, boosting Quant will give you the fastest gains. Focus on mastering arithmetic, algebra, and word problems first—high frequency and high reward.
3. Verbal consistency – Your verbal percentile is decent, so tighten accuracy and timing with 3-4 RC passages a day and targeted CR/SC practice.
4. Review wrong answers – For all sections, spend time understanding why an answer was wrong/right. That’s where the learning really happens.
5. Mock test pacing – Do at least 1 mock per week and simulate test conditions. Use the first few questions wisely—don’t over-invest time.

Including/describing some issues/specific areas you find challenging could be helpful. For RC, for example, becoming familiar with how inference questions work could be helpful.
For time management, using question/time markers could also be useful.
How to get better on the GMAT. Think of time management as time currency.
