There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I've been prepping for GMAT Focus for a couple of months and gave my 2nd practice test today, the first being in November. However, I scored around 550 on both tests i.e. around the 50th percentile. Surprisingly, I attempted the CAT exam (in India) and scored 96 percentile.
I've tried analysing the score and one of the patterns I'm not sure makes a difference is incorrectly attempting the first few questions.
If you feel your fundamentals are solid, consider working on your solving approach. May boost your performance a bit. Perhaps include working with a study buddy who is really strong in an area you're not to see how they approach certain questions (i.e. CR)
if possible share your ESR that will help in understanding where you went wrong.... also unlike CAT gmat is computer adaptive test.. here your percentile score depends on your individual performance in test , where as in CAT ( INDIAN) percentile score depends on the pool of students who have scored over you in that year.... dont mix two exams both have different scoring algorithm..

Thank you guys for responding. Don't want to spam the thread so answering all questions here. 1) Someone mentioned the ESR, is it possible to get ESR for Mock tests? 2) I suspect it is the GMAT algorithm, that I haven't gotten used to, causing this issue. 3) I'll join a study group if there's anyone looking for members lmk.
