I assume here that the would become is correct because we want the sentence to be in indirect speech. Can anyone please explain if my assumption is correct, and if it is then, how do we really get to know that the sentence is expecting an indirect speech.

Bro if I am at ur place I will see under line portion because it's next to impossible to find the intention of sentence whether it's certain or uncertain. But there is one thing that two events can be in past with simple present tense specially in this sentence according to me 1st film is release so it must be followed by had if it is in underline portion of not then produced need something else except simple past
