In a certain hardware store, 3 percent of the lawnmowers need new labels. If the price per label is $4 and the total cost for new lawnmower labels is $96, how many lawnmowers are in the hardware store?

A. 1,600
B. 800
C. 240
D. 120
E. 24

Total cost of lawnmower = 96.

cost per lawnmower = 4

Number of lawnmower = 96 /4 = 24.

(24/3) * 100 = 800.

B is the correct answer.

upon reviewing given answer options we can say that only a & b are options where we get integer value for 3% of total lawnmowers

so
96$ is cost of new lawnmomer ; 96/4 = 24
and 800 *.03 = 24
