In a senior citizens' club, are more than 1/4 of the members over 75 years age?

(1) Exactly 60 percent of the female members are over 60 years of age, and, of these, 1/3 are pver 75 years of age.
(2) Exactly 10 male members are over 75 years of age.

Let there be x males and y females

Statement 1: females over the age of 60 \(= 60%*y=0.6y\)

female over 75 \(= \frac{1}{3}*0.6y=0.2y\)

but we don't know the value of \(x\) & \(y\). Hence Insufficient

Statement 2: males over 75 \(=10\) but nothing mentioned about female. Hence Insufficient

Combining 1 & 2 we have no of member over 75 years \(= 0.2y+10\). but we don't know about \(y\). Hence Insufficient
