I made this table to solve the question.
Total under the heading "Total" means 18 students, indicated in the extreme right of the table.
Total under the heading "Spanish" means 12 Spanish speaking students.
There are 4 students who speak both Spanish and German.
To calculate no. of Spanish students who do not speak German= 12-4= 8.
