In a group of 600 adults, y of the men listen to a certain radio disc jockey and x of the women do not listen to the disc jockey. The number of women that listen to the disc jockey is 12/13 of the number of women that do not listen to the disc jockey and among the men 2/3 as many do not listen as do. If there are 175 men in the group, what is the sum of x and y?

Well, I did it using double set matrix (OL sets) and answer comes up as fine as it comes using other methods.
Here's what I did. Assume no. of Men= a & that of women = b. (P.S. I never seem to draw this matrix diagram right in this text editor. It looks fine when I make it but completely gets destroyed when I preview it

Given that a=175. I get y=105 and b=425.
Using b= 425, x= 13*17.
Hence we get x+y = 105 + 221 = 326
