Because the student do take the test, she/he must give at least 1 answer (if she/he does not give any answer, then we can not say that she/he attempt the question in the test). Assume that the students can only give at most 1 answer for each question. Therefore, for each question, the student has 6 choices: 5 options + "do nothing" option. Since there are 65 questions, totally there are 6^65 -1 ways (minus 1 way that the student does nothing at all).... The answer is D
