Answer>Total people 50, total hotdogs 65, total hamburgers 15

Can somebody explain?

let the total # of earthlings be 'x'.
total # of hamburgers= .3x
total # of hotdogs = (.6x)*2 + .1x ( .6x*2 b'coz they ate 2 each.)
now, total food = .3x +1.2x+.1x
this is given to be 80
equating we get x= 50
hence # of hamburgers = .3x = 15
# of hotdogs= 1.3x = 65
80 Total - 65 hotdogs = 15 hamburgers

65 hotdogs, 15 hamburgers

I cracked it like this:

60% people ate 2 hotdogs = 60% x 2 = 1.2
60% people ate 1 burger = 30% x 2 = 0.3
10% people ate 1 hotdogs = 10% x 1 = 0.1

TOtal = 1.2+0.3+0.1 = 1.6

Hotdaogs = (1.2+0.1)/1.6 x 80 = 65
Burgers = 0.3/1.6 x 80 = 15

Pls confirm is this right

Let the total # of people be T, then: 0.6T*2+0.3T+0.1T=80 --> T=50 --> hot dogs=0.3*50=15 --> hamburgers=80-15=65.
