could you please explain the logic behind assuming 120 for the distance? that was a quick wit and I just want to understand your thought process and reasoning. TIA
Hi EshaFatim,

The reason for choosing 120 is because it the LCM of the speeds given, 40 & 60. The distance is same for both ways and should be divided by given speeds to get time. So choosing LCM will make the calculation easier.

Similarly in percentage or factor problems, selecting 100% or LCM or combination of both will make further calculation easier.
