In a sequence of number each term is the sum of the two terms preceding. What is the tenth 10th term?
1) the first term 1 and the second term is 1
2) the eight term is 21 and the eleventh term is 89
Please explain ur answer

Such a series is known as Fibonacci series.
E.g. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144,.....
If you know any two term in this series, then you can get any other number in the series.
Statement 1:
Gives you first two terms. So you can keep on two consecutive terms to obtain the next numbers. In this way you can get 10th term.
Statement 2:
Gives you 8th and 11th number. You can again assume two numbers X and Y such that
21 + X = Y and X + Y = 89, two equation two unknowns very easy to solve.
Both options can independently give you answer.
So Answer D.
