If there are 100 voters, then 70 voted for Sobel and 30 for Lange. 60 were male and 40 were female. 0.35 x 40 = 14 were female voters who voted for Lange, so 26 females voted for Sobel. Thus, 70 - 26 = 44 males voted for Sobel. Thus, we see that 44/100 = 44% of the voters are males who voted for Sobel.

Answer: D
