In an election how many votes are cast?

(1) The winning candidate gets 54% of the total votes

(2) The winning candidate wins by 800 votes

statement 1 clearly is not enough to give the total number of votes

statement 2 is also clearly not enough to show the total number of votes

statement (1+2) from st1- the candidate got 8% more votes than the total votes gained by rest of candidates but still not enough to show the difference from the candidate holding second position
So my answer would be E

1 doesn't answer the question. We need to know the how many votes are cast
2 also doesn't answer the question.

1 & 2 together, still doesn't answer the question

Answer is E
