21 staff 1/3 = men = 7

7 men should be equal to 1/4 of total so total = 7x4 = 28

women = 2/3 0f 21 = 14

women hired must be 28-21 = 7

(A) imo

Total Members = 21
men= 7
women=14

we are looking for the no. of women to be hired therefore no. of men will be 25 % or 1/4

we don't know how many women must be hired to meet the conditions above.

let x be the no. of women.

so, total members will be 21+ x in this case.
logically, we can form equation.

7/(21+x)=1/4

solving equation we get x= 7

back solving can really help us save our time. try .

Total = 21 Members
Men = 7 (33.33%)
Women = 14 (66.66%)

To make total number of Men to 25% or if 7 men is 25% of total employees, 100% is 28 out of which Men=7.
Women = Total - Men = 28-7 = 21

Ans: A

IMO A
I did it with reverse plugin which is follow bellow
TOTAL MALE FEMALE
21 7 14
We know if male is 1/4 then women is 3/4 so if we add any option in our previous total number of women then that number is divisible by 3. Lets look at options.
A 14+7= 21 divisible by 3 leave it
B 14+5= 19 not divisible by 3 eliminated
C 14+3= 17 Not divisible by 3 eliminated
D 14+2= 16 not divisible by 3 eliminated
E 14+1= 15 divisible by 3 leave it
Now plug value take 7
TOTAL MALE FEMALE
28 7 21
so if we verify male is 1/4 hence answer is A.

Total = 21
M=7; W= 14

28 Staff members

M= 7; W= 21

Hence 21-14= 7 more W should be hired
