E- because even though we know that his car uses 70 miles per day and he spends x amount per gallon still we don't know how many miles his car can drive on 1 gallon.

To find:
- • The amount Kolshtov spent, in April, on gasoline per mile to drive his car
Approach and Working:
To find the amount spent, we need to know:
- • Total distance travelled by Kolshtov
• Total spending on gasoline to travel that distance
Analysing Statement 1
- • As per the information given in statement 1, Kolshtov paid an average of $1.69 per gallon of gasoline
- o This provides us the rate of gasoline, and does not provide us any information about the total distance travelled
Hence, statement 1 is not sufficient to answer
Analysing Statement 2
- • As per the information given in statement 2, Kolshtov drove his car an average of 70 miles per day
- o This statement does not provide us any information about the amount of gasoline he needed to make the whole journey
Hence, statement 2 is not sufficient to answer
Combining Both Statements
Even if we combine both the statements, we can’t find out the total amount of gasoline spent and therefore, the amount spent on gasoline
Hence, the correct answer is option E.
