In each of the first eleven months of 2006, sales of computers at Megabits rose between 10.0% and 12.0% compared to the same month in 2005. Did Megabits sell more computers in 2006 than it did in 2005?
(1) December was the slowest month of 2005 in terms of computer sales.
(2) Fourth quarter sales in 2006 were more than 97% of fourth quarter sales in 2005
I think it is E.
From 1) all we know is that Dec 2005 was the slowest month INSUFF
From 2) we know that the Q4 2006 sales were more than 97% of the Q4 2005 sales, we do not know which month the highest sales were. The question asks 'compared to the same month'. INSUFF
OA?
(1) December was the slowest month of 2005 in terms of computer sales.
(2) Fourth quarter sales in 2006 were more than 97% of fourth quarter sales in 2005

1+1....+0.9=2005 sales 11.9
now sales rose for 1st 11 monts in 2006 assume lowest 10% 12.1
in dec assume no sales so 2006 sales 12.1
suff
(2) for 3 qtr sales 2005 say x in each qurter in 2006 1.1x assuem 10%
assume 2005 4th q to be y so 20064q = .97y
Total 3x + y in 2005 3.3x + .97y in 2006
the result depends on x and y
if x > y then more sale in 2006
if x <<< y then more sale in 2005
