Of course, it is a tough thing to discriminate between the two. When we say in past tense that three important ideas that were physical in nature, we mean that they were physical at the time of his introduction of those ideas, perhaps not earlier nor later. However, in reality, they are eternally physical and avoiding the past tense would be a clear expression. Of course, we might even say A is concise while E is wordy. All said and done, A is markedly better.
Of course, I am taking ‘physical’ as ‘physics – related’, for want of any other befitting reason
